CHAPTER 3 Matilda was terrified. She had just let someone doll-nap her. And it was obviously a witch. “Ah, you’re awake. That’s good,” said the witch. “Please, let me go. I just want to see my friend Annabell again,” Matilda pleaded to the witch. “Oh I know. But you’ll see you dear old Annabell very soon,” replied Agnes. “I’ll do whatever you want. Please, just let me go,” Matilda begged. Agnes looked at Matilda for a moment then snickered. "For a doll you are awfully happy and cheery,” Agnes stated as she walked toward the chained up Matilda and unlocked her. Without thinking Matilda ran toward the door hoping to make it outside in enough time to escape the witch. But she couldn’t do it, she had a hard time running because she got very stiff whenever she tried running or even walking. A strong force turned her around and pulled her towards the witch. “Now, now, my pretty, we had a deal. Don’t make me turn you into a toad or a bug,” Agnes threatened. “Okay, what do you want?” asked Matilda. The witch smiled at Matilda and waved her fingers and walked towards a cabinet of potions. Matilda was stuck, floating in midair. “Drink this!” the witch said handing Matilda a aqua potion. Poor Matilda, she was shaking as fast as she could. All she wanted to do was bring back memories with Annabell by coming to the abandoned house in the woods. But now she owed the witch. Matilda was hesitant, but she gave the witch her word, she had to drink the potion. Matilda took the potion from the witch and opened the lid. Matilda then slowly put the potion in her mouth. It tasted horrible, and it smelled really bad too. Besides the potion smelling and tasting terrible, something was different about Matilda. She screamed, she screamed like her life depended on it. Her pupils had disappeared and her eyes had gone white. Matilda went silent, no more screaming, no more fighting. The force that was holding her in midair, released her. Matilda didn’t run. She felt no need to run. The witch was her friend now, a friend that would tell her what to do. A friend that Matilda wanted to hate, but loved. A friend that was a witch.
